My work starts with sketches: planning the composition. I find my ideas everywhere through Inspiration>> Music: (Jazz, Blues and more>> I always paint to music) Art history: Picasso, Kandinsky, William Tolliver, Diego Rivera, Freda Kahlo, Rousseau ... ... the irreverent irony of Joseph Beuys ... and the cartoons of Chuck Jones.

Equally important is the Texture of the canvas, My surfaces are ragged and layered with mediums & colours (oils or acrylics). The canvas becomes a landscape
  - no matter what the subject.

Recently reading works on temporal deontic logic (eg: there is no dog) - realizing it's relation to my work process, and use of illustrative graffiti.
